Technical SLA & Licensing FAQ

Resolve licensing anomalies, hardware configuration specs, and cluster deployment parameters.

A storage node refers to any physical bare-metal hardware server or virtualized compute instance executing the ATLAS.OS Calypso daemon. Subscriptions are billed per node running active read/write mount operations, regardless of physical CPU core counts.

No. Calypso incorporates a customized ZFS kernel modules layer optimized for sequential block writes, transparent stubs, and high-performance NVMe caching. We do not support external Oracle or OpenZFS package overlays.

RBK-GX licensing includes built-in library robotics control (SCSI media changer commands). It is tiered by the number of active LTO tape slots configured in the library partition, rather than physical tape drives. Unlimited slot expansion options are available.

Calypso uses active-active clustering via high-performance storage fabric networks. In the event of a node panic, secondary nodes take over ZFS import blocks and remount FUSE recall stubs, maintaining uninterrupted client mount availability.

Yes. To prevent license cloning, node subscriptions bind cryptographically to the system hardware GUID, CPU topology, and primary onboard network interface MAC address. Off-grid activation keys are provided for air-gapped secure environments.

Yes, upgrades can be executed on-the-fly without rebuilding storage pools. Upon license key update, the Calypso daemon restarts its automation subsystem and instantly removes slot or throughput throttles on active tape groups.
